Rygor is supporting a former RAF Squadron Leader as he takes on the Land’s End to John O’Groats (LEJOG) challenge later this month, by loaning an electric Farizon van to support the journey.
Tony Jackson, who served more than 36 years in the Royal Air Force, with a career spanning Air Traffic Control and Flight Operations, will ride the length of Great Britain on his motorcycle (that’s 910 miles) between 28 May and 2 June. Tony’s efforts are in a bid to raise money for the RAF Benevolent Fund, the RAF’s leading welfare charity supporting serving personnel, veterans and their families.
As part of the challenge, Rygor has loaned the team a fully electric Farizon L1 H1 van, which will be used as the support vehicle throughout the journey. The van will be driven by Tony’s brother, retired RAF Flight Lieutenant Trevor Jackson, and will carry equipment and provide logistical support along the route.
Rygor became a franchise dealer for Farizon in 2025, with the all‑electric commercial vehicle brand already gaining strong momentum in the UK market and receiving positive feedback from customers for its practicality, payload capability and real‑world usability.
Tony will be riding a Maeving RM1S electric motorcycle, with the use of an electric support van reinforcing the team’s commitment to completing the challenge using zero emission vehicles wherever possible.
The route, starting in Cornwall, will take in Taunton, RAF Shawbury, where Tony completed his Air Traffic Control training, before continuing north through Penrith, Stirling and Inverness. Ahead of the official start, the team will visit RAF High Wycombe on 27 May, with photography taking place to mark the start of the challenge, before travelling to Cornwall.
Tony said. “I wanted to take on a meaningful personal challenge after turning 65, and LEJOG felt like the perfect opportunity to combine that with fundraising for the RAF Benevolent Fund. I was keen to complete the challenge using electric vehicles, and after researching suitable options, I came across the Farizon van range. I contacted Rygor towards the end of a week, at the end of last year and was genuinely blown away by how quickly and positively they responded.
“The speed of the decision making and the level of support from Rygor was life affirming. The loan of the van has made a huge difference to making this challenge possible and gave confidence to other sponsors to support us too. Ben Childs (Rygor Farizon Sales Manager) and the Rygor team have been brilliant – from arranging test drives to helping us load and test charging the bike using the onboard V2L sockets. That level of practical support has been invaluable.
“Completing this journey together, revisiting RAF Shawbury and raising as much money as possible for the Fund makes this incredibly special. We’re also really looking forward to getting the Farizon van out on the open road,” Tony added.
Commenting on Rygor’s involvement, John Keogh, managing director at Rygor Group, said: “We’re incredibly proud to support Tony and Trevor in taking on this challenge for the RAF Benevolent Fund. Supporting serving and former members of the Armed Forces is something that matters deeply to us as a business. Rygor has a longstanding relationship with the military community through our support of British Army Sport, and our ongoing commitment under the Armed Forces Silver Covenant – all of which is particularly pertinent in light of the Rygor Land Systems division of our company. Supporting this challenge felt like a natural extension of that commitment.”
Ben Childs, van sales manager at Rygor Auto Oxford, said: “I’m so pleased to showcase the strength of our growing electric vehicle offering. The Farizon van is a great example of the practical, zero‑emission solutions now available to fleet and commercial customers, and it’s already gaining real momentum in the UK. Supporting this challenge demonstrates how these vehicles perform in demanding, 4 real‑world situations. I truly wish Trevor and Tony all the very best in their challenge and cannot wait to see updates from the road!”
